Hywell's Soliloquy

Intimate conversations with myself

Flickr = Censorship

I am being censored by Flickr because I posted pictures of Es Trenc in my account.  Es Trenc is a nude beach.  I cannot believe that I paid to be censored.

Update:

The community guideline stipulates moderating ones own content.  Something that I was more than glad to do.  Now, the customer care person I am dealing with, Terrence, is forcing me to delete images from my photostream.

Update 2:

They really don’t have a valid argument to force me to do anything because my pictures really do not violate any terms of service or “community guideline”.  They just handicapped my account.  My account expires next February and that will be the end of my Flickr account.  No renewal after this bullying from the Puritans of Flickr.

Update 3:

After being ignored for 6 hours, I decided to post my question in the Flickr forum.  Now I am publicly viewable again.

How long until my pictures are openly viewable again?

My account was recently set to moderate, how long until it is removed once your user complies to your demands?

I have sent 4 emails asking the question to Customer Care without a response. Customer Care was quick to respond and refer to me as a voyeur but when it is time for Customer Care to actually serve me, a paying customer, I get no response.

1) did you fix it?

There are clear instructions on what to do to fix things here:

www.flickr.com/help/filters/#253

2) Relax the attitude. Even the free accounts make Flickr money through advertisements. So everyone is a paying customer. The more you email staff with attitude the less likely they are to go out of their way to help you. For every staff member there are thousands and thousands of clients.

3) If you follow the instructions, and be nice then you will be reviewed as Safe again. The process takes about 24 hours.

4) All this being said, I do not see any voyeur content in your stream. This could have been an error. or you have images I can’t see.

Those emails have all been sent in the last several hours, after you did have interaction with our team. This is the evening in California, where our team is located; in light of that, your patience is kindly requested .

Thank you

I had 4 images that I was forced to delete. Once, I have deleted the images, I inquired about the amount of time until my account is normal again. I heard nothing. It took you all of 10 minutes to provide me the answer that I was asking Customer Care for the past 6 hours. BTW, thank you. :)

Again, you had several responses from Customer Care. At some point, people finish work days, and pick up where they were when they come back, as I am sure you do.

Thanks

Kevin of Flickr closed the thread before I could tell him that his time zone response doesn’t hold water.  I was corresponding with Flickr 3:30 PM PST… and Terrence guy just unlocked my account at 9 o’clock something PST.
